The ILGWU records contain many thousands of letters from and to union members, staff, and officers. The four letters selected here were specifically chosen as they document a few of the major events and issues in the union's ninety-five-year history.

1995 merger with ACTWU

Jay Mazur's letter to the delegates about the proposed merger between ILGWU and ACTWU. Mazur encourages delegates to attend the 42nd Convention where voting on the merger will take place. The new union name, Union of Needletrades, Industrial & Textile Employees (UNITE) is mentioned.
