This selection of meeting minutes document a few critical moments in the history of the ILGWU-the union's founding, its push to join central labor bodies, its continued support of the Liberal Party, and the passing of President Benjamin Schlesinger in 1932.

Minutes from the first meeting held in 1900

Hand-written notes from the first ILGWU meeting which was held at Labor Lyceum, 64 East 4th St. in New York City. Included in the minutes are the election of Herman Grossman as president; establishment of an executive board; inclusion of all current unions in the ladies' garment trades; creation of a journal and a preliminary fund.
