UNITY HOUSE

Invites You This Summer

[page 2]

The new main building at Unity House was designed by the world-famous architect, William E. Lescaze. The attractive sunken lounge with a tap room on one side and administration offices on the other, presents a distinctly modern effect. The large dining hall with its effective dome-ceiling is cheerful and light. The picturesque terrace is set off by an old-world brick wall.

You will be welcome at Unity House during the early days in June; however, the date set for the official opening, with a complete staff on hand, is June 19th.

During the recent Decoration Day week-end, several hundred guests had a foretaste of the thrilling vacation days ahead... There is a new spirit in the air, a new order, a feeling that the place is complete-just about perfect! Unity House has always been a haven for those who sought rest, relaxation, recreation and beauty. Then came an ambitious building program, and frankly, last season we were not fully prepared for the many eager, curious newcomers. Now, after months of intensive construction and planning, we say without hesitation: "Come, we are ready!"

The finishing touches have been placed on the new main building with its spacious dome-ceilinged dining hall, the new structure for guest accommodations, eight lakeside cottages, grounds and athletic facilities... The Culinary Department is functioning as it never did before, for the experienced eye of A. Ellner, well known caterer and hotel manager, is overseeing every detail of food, preparation and

This lake, one and a half miles long, is the center of all aquatic activities. It is used exclusively by Unity House guests. Swimming, diving, canoeing, rowing, as well as water carnivals are popular at Unity. Many new canoes and boats have been added this season. These activities are under expert supervision.

service. The policy of preparing a special Italian menu for those desiring it will be continued. You'll enjoy every meal at Unity House this season... A great deal of emphasis will be placed on the Program Department. From time to time, famous guest stars will be featured, but the basis of all programs will be a brilliant, permanent company of players and musicians. Thus, whether you come for a weekend or a longer vacation, you may be sure there is always excellent, dependable entertainment at Unity House. As for accommodations, Unity House offers the pleasures of camp life with the comforts of a hotel. The new guest building has lovely porches, casement windows, semi-private shower rooms, all the latest improvements. Eight smaller cottages built along the side of the lake provide these same advantages, and the larger cottages have been renovated. The new paths and roads and the gradual slope from the main building terrace to the lake continues to delight Unity House guests. We will expect you this summer, and feel confident that you will have only words of praise when you have experienced a Unity House vacation.
